Ridge temporarily stopped using the Lytton Springs name in 1977 when the vineyard owner produced his own wine, labeling their local Zinfandel as Valley Vista. Most of those vines still exist today thanks to the dedicated farming and wisdom of Bill Moore, a retired orthodontist, who purchased the property as his first home in the 1980s.
