Description
OK, So I have never seen a crappier tech sheet on an actual producer's site. While I tasted this wine, I was focused on the clients and not taking notes. For all present, the wine had merits. I had to dig a bit deeper to find a source that had more in-depth relevant information than the producer's site. Turns out, the importer, Skurnik thought some of us wine professionals (wine said with a Texas Twang "Whiyne Perfessonals" - Check your open carry gun and tip your 10 gallon hat)), might need a little more secondo to follow the antipasti.
The Scavino Rosso is a blend of Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Merlot, which makes it a "Super Piemontese" wine. Everything is vinified and aged in tank. No oak is used in the production of this wine. Look, I could talk about cherries, structure, blah, blah, blah, but I won't.
This is a really nice red wine, maybe better with food for some. But fine to drink for a more de-sensitized palate.
Try it. Like a nice pair of jeans, It could be an excellent fit. You'll never know until you try it on.
