I'm always on the lookout for a nice value from the Rhone Valley.  I usually find suce a wine in a Cotes du Rhone that really overperforms.  This wine is produced by renowned Lucien Le Moine house in Burgundy.  It is not surprising to find a Burgundian finesse to this wine.  This refinement is something that I have not seen at CDR level in quite a while.  Great Everyday Drinker.

Winemaker Notes

Like his Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Mounir’s Inopia exhibits tremendous finesse and balance. Silky, elegant with transparent and pure red fruit flavors and aromas.

This needs a bit of air, but with time you are greeted with aromas of black cherries, plums and black licorice. Medium-to full-bodied with silky tannins. Very clear red and black fruit with some earthy undertones. Layered, but approachable with lots of distinctive character which you do not typically find with a Cotes-du-Rhone village. Drink now.
