I know what you're thinking.
Where is Campania? what is Aglianico? This is $80?
I'm not sure what I can say here that will convince you to ante up and try a bottle. But damn, this is some really good juice.
This is not a delicate wine. It is big, bold, structured, and ready to drink now or age for another 10+ years. The tannins are dense, but uber-refined. It was interesting to taste this next to the Rubrato because you could definitely see why this wine was four times the price. My rep went through an entire Coravin gas cartridge as we revisited and revisited this wine. She finally gave up and figured it would be best to pull the cork.
I hope you will take a leap of faith and give this excellent off-the-radar gem of a wine a chance to shine.

This bold Aglianico is savory and spicy, but also has really well-crafted tannins and lively acidity. Moderate length. I love the balance. Drink now."".
