Description
John Claude Boisset Marsannay Rouge 2019
Pinot Noir is king in Marsannay, representing almost 90% of the planted area in this small village in the Côte de Nuits. Featuring a wild bouquet of strawberry, blueberry and smoke, this is well concentrated on the palate with rich and savory flavor and medium tannin. From 50-year old vines, the bunches were fermented with 50% whole cluster for added aromatics and structure and the resulting wine was aged for 16 months in small 225L French oak barrels (30% new oak). Fermented free of sulfur dioxide.
This wine was rich and velvety, with an exotic nose, and a nice dollop of fruit which made it really, really easy to drink.
