The Piuma is a mid-weight wine that still show all of the fleshiness of the Montepulciano varietal.  It has ripe dark fruit, mocha, and just a hint of pepper.  The mouthfeel is velvety-smooth.  You would never peg this as a $14 wine.  BTW - This was the client selection for their events.  It came down to the Penya Rouge and this wine.  Both wines were neck and neck based on tasting.  The Piuma was selected due to the sophistication of the packaging.
