Founded in 1850, Maison Moillard is one of the most celebrated Burgundy negociants and producers. Whether it's spectacular Grands Crus, sublime Premiers Crus, or Village appellations with a strong identity, they raise their wines in accordance with Burgundy traditions, terroirs and climates, to reveal the natural personality of each plot.

From the vine to the cellar, at Moillard the production of great cuvees is an art mastered for generations. Grapes are selected from partner winegrowers for many years and their team of oenologists uses all its know-how to vinify and age quality wines, representative of their terroir and which are appreciable in their youth but also after a few years. years spent in the cellar.

Fixin is located in the very north of the Cote de Nuits and represents outstanding value for a Cote de Nuits red. The grapes for this wine are sourced form a single plot with brown calcareous soils and good exposure. Both excellent for ripening Pinot Noir to the fullest.

Harvest is all by hand and vinification is in thermo-regulated stainless steel. a pre-fermentation temperature controlled cold maceration is done before a long fermentation. Finally the wine aged in oak barrels for 10 to 12 months.

This lovely red Burgundy show notes of raspberry, strawberry and cola on the nose.The palate is round and harmonious with supple tannins. The fruit flavors are complemented by notes of forest and oak. The finish lingers.
