A Consumer Masterclass and guided tasting presented by Richard Sanchez.
Richard is a native Houstonian who has worked in the wine industry for more than 25 years.
Early in his wine career, Richard managed the beverage program for the iconic Houston establishment DaMarco, along with sister restaurants Dolce Vita and Vinoteca Poscol. These wine programs feature (almost) exclusively Italian selections. After his tenure with the DaMarco group, Richard worked for Pappas Bros Steakhouse.
When Richard was recruited to work in wine distribution by Republic National Distributing Company, he began what would be a life-long career working on the other side of the table. His knowledge of the restaurant business has led him to a successful career consulting with restaurants to help curate their wine lists. He has found a home for his passion at Serendipity Wines Imports, where he represents a selection of boutique wines from family-owned wineries.
In the class, Richard will present a selection of wines that will guide you through a tasting that will highlight some lesser-known regions in Italy where Nebbiolo is cultivated. You will learn about local names for the varietal such as Ghemme and Chiavanesca. Ultimately, you will have the opportunity to compare these wines to the "Big B's" Barolo and Barbaresco.
$75 - Price includes a $40 credit towards a $125 purchase of the wines shown in the lineup. (i.e. Select $125 in wines - pay $85)
Class size is limited to 20.
