Berthaut's 2021 Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge is made from vines planted in 1970. The fruits are darker that you would expect in a wine from the Haute Cotes de Nuits. Aromas of smoky plums and berries, accented with subtle spice.  It is medium-bodied and well-structured with fresh with powdery tannins.

At just under $40, this is an outstanding value in the world of Burgundy where prices always defy gravity and never fall.
