The original mouth-blown version of this glassware was designed by an Italian for a French Michelin Star Restaurant. There is ample width at the bottom of the bowl to give wine ample surface area to open and release aromatics. The Etoile Stemware is made to the exact same specifications but with a machine-blown process and a pulled stem. The mechanized process of shaping this glassware and creating the stem gives it extra resistance to breakage. While these glasses will retain their crystal-clear brilliance through many dishwasher cycles, I personally recommend hand washing and careful drying.
