Description
John Claude Boisset Marsannay Blanc 2019
Made from 50-year old vines, 100% Chardonnay (a rarity in Marsannay, mostly a red-wine producing village) aged for 16 months in 33% new French oak (double size 450-liter barrels), this white Burgundy has a pronounced nose which is matched by flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of lemon, nectarine, hazelnut, cream and an intense minerality of saline and chalk.
This was a "Wow, I going to revisit this one" kind of wine. This wine was expansive on the palate with a long, mouth-coating finish. The pop of nectarine was something that really came out of left field. To my palate, this was outstanding.
