Description
The 2017 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Riserva exhibits notes of dark fruit (black cherry, plum, black raspberry), sweet and exotic spices (cinnamon, cloves, cumin), and hints of tobacco, leather, and cedar. It is a full-bodied, structured wine with a powerful, rich palate and noticeable, fine-grained, somewhat bitter tannins, balanced by vibrant acidity, making it a good candidate for cellaring.
James Suckling: 95 points — “Complex and fragrant nose of neroli, currants, sour cherries, sandalwood, cassis and wild herbs. Roasted walnuts, too. Full‑bodied with firm, fine‑grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Full of energy and power.”
