Description
The Beronia Rioja Gran Reserva 2018 is a full-bodied, elegant red wine from Spain made primarily from old-vine Tempranillo with a touch of Graciano and Mazuelo. Aged for over two years (approx. 27–28 months) in French oak barrels, followed by an additional three years resting in the bottle before release.
Deep cherry red with a bright garnet rim. Complex aroma notes of ripe plums, sweet spices (nutmeg and clove), cedar, cacao, and a hint of balsamic. Plump black and dark red fruits blend with smooth cocoa, tobacco, and mineral layers. Full-bodied with silky, polished tannins and a long, smooth, spicy finish.
Wine Enthusiast – 93 Points (Cellar Selection): Reviewers highlighted its aromatic intensity and complex nose of fresh and dried fruits mixed with wet tobacco, Mediterranean herbs, and mocha. They noted the tannins are highly integrated, offering a "polished, almost silky mouthfeel" on a structured body designed to age.
