Description

D.O. TORO

The Appellation of Origin Toro is located in Castilla y León, southeast of the province of Zamora, with an area of 5,500 hectares of vineyards.

The arid character of the area is characterized by an extreme continental climate with Atlantic influences. The cold winters and long hours of sunshine are excellent conditions for the successful development of the grape.
The soil, composed of sandstone, clay and limestone is ideal for the cultivation of native varieties.

WINERY

Orot has produced quality wine since 1980.  With an understanding of the great potential of the Toro region for the production of quality wine, Orot built a winery in the town of Toro, and acquired 20 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the appellation.

VINEYARD

Orot has 20 hectares of vineyards Located southeast of the province of Zamora, it is situated at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level.  All of their holdings are planted with the Tinta de Toro variety.  The average age of the vines is greater than 15 years old.

 

The Orot Crianza is made from 100% Tinto de Toro, which is the local name for Tempranillo,  The Crianza is deeply pigmented and full-bodied, with fleshy red fruit and chewy, ripe tannins, The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak, creating a modern-styled Spanish red.  The spicy notes from the oak have integrated seamlessly.   This is a wine that you can certainly drink on its own, and it will also be a great accompaniment to a juicy steak and will also be right at home next to a smoke-grilled cheeseburger.
