Description
We had this wine followed by a bottle of Philipponat Champagne. Surprisingly, the palate of the Bonomi was more refined, with tiny, delicate bubbles. Clearly, these are two very different wines. But the observation is definitely worth noting when defining the value of this very well-priced offering. With closeout pricing, this will easily rank as the best bottle of $30 sparkling wine you have ever tasted.
70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir. 36 Months on Lees.

This radiant Franciacorta opens with aromas of tangerine peel, jasmine, and fresh mountain herbs. The palate is lively with a creamy richness that adds roundness but not weight. Flavors of macerated orange peels, bread crust, yellow apple, and mint define the palate. The finish is bright and clean. This wine is delicious now, but will drink well through 2040.
