Winemaker Notes
Argentina is mostly known as being the land of Malbec.
The truth is, there is a fair amount of really good Cabernet Franc being produced there as well. Much of it makes it way into varied red blends. But, when bottled on its own, it can be a stunning, varietally correct expression of Cabernet Franc, that will satisfy the most discerning Cabernet Franophile at a pittance of the price that would be expected.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 93
The incredible 2019 Appellation San Carlos Cabernet Franc is super elegant, fresh, varietal, nuanced and complex. A wine like this often costs more money than the price point of the appellation range, but it feels like a bargain anyway. This is an updated version of the 2018, with precision and symmetry. It's vibrant and lively, velvety and focused.
