The Chevalier de Lascombes is the second wine of the Deuxieme Cru (Second Growth) Chateau Lascombes and is a beautiful expression of the always sinuous Margaux character.  70% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petite Verdot.  This wine has an interesting elevage, being in barrique, foudre, and amphora.  In the glass the Chevalier offers aromas of dark fruits, spices and toasty oak. On the palate, it is richly-endowed with ample body and ripe tannins. Flavors of black cherry and cassis are revealed accented by hints of forest floor, licorice and a touch of minerality.
