Description
Arguably, this wine a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese, is targeting an audience that leans towards a New World palate while still staying true to its Tuscan roots. Refined in French oak barrels, 30% new, 40% one year old, and 30% 2 years old, there are some of the familiar hallmarks of heavily oaked California reds, but they show far more restraint as a component of the flavor profile rather than a dominant characteristic. This wine has weight, plenty of fruit character, and is well-structured. You can enjoy it now, likely more with a good decanting, or it will develop nicely for over a decade.
94 Points James Suckling
This is a lovely wine with currant, black cherry and some and cigar-box character. It is medium-to full-bodied with tight, linear tannins that are long and polished. Hard not to drink now. "
