Description
The Giacosa Fratelli Bussia Barbera d'Alba "Canavere" 2022 is an intense, terroir-driven red wine from the famous Bussia sub-area of Monforte d'Alba in Piedmont, Italy. Grown on the grounds of Cascina Canavere in Monforte d'Alba, traditionally a grand cru zone for Barolo. 100% Barbera from organically farmed, 40-year-old vines planted on iron-rich marine sediment and fossil marl. Hand-harvested, 30-day skin-contact fermentation in stainless steel, then aged for 8 to 12 months in large 60hl wooden casks.
Intense ruby red in color with aromas of black currant, dark raspberries, spiced cherries, wild plum, cocoa, tobacco, and orange peel. Medium-to-full-bodied on the palate with bright, balanced acidity, fine tannins, and a savory, lively finish.
