Description
Only the finest grapes from the estate are used to make this wine. Upon harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and spend a long maceration in concreted tanks, The wine is refined for 12 months in both barriques and tonneau. After bottling, it rests an additional year to soften and integrate.
A unique and unexpected blend of traditional Italian varietals, Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Folgiatonda, and Sagrantino, A portion of the grapes are dried in the passito syle of an Amarone. Not surprisingly, the Eccellenza is a rich, full-bodied wine bursting with blackberries, blueberries, cherry compote, and a hint of clove. The palate is mouthfiling and silky smooth. The finish is so long that you might miss dessert waiting for it to fade.
An amazing Tuscan outlier that stands in a class by itself.
