Description
If you're pining for the much-coveted Chauve l'Hermitage, and can't get your hands on an allocation, or if you just want to test the waters (wine) to see what all the fuss is about at $80 instead of $300, this is a perfect opportunity.
This wine consists of both Domaine and sourced fruit and is aged for 6 months less than the l'Hermitage. The lifespan of the Farconnet is (only) 20 years as opposed to the potential 50 year window for the Domaine wine. At 25% of the price of the Domaine wine, I'm definitely a takeri! Don't get me wrong, the Farconnet is still a very special wine. But isn't so special that there will never be a special enough occasion to actually open it.
