As with each of the top varietal offerings from Lodali, this Barbera d'Alba carries the name of the patriarch Giacome Lorens. Made from 100% Barbera sourced exclusively from vineyards located in the towns of Treiso and Roddi
After hand harvest, the grapes undergo soft-pressing and a long maceration at controlled temperature for about 18 days. After alchoholic fermentation the wine is mature for 6 months in French barriques and tonneaux and an addition 6 months in bottle before release.
In the glass this wine is deeply colored, bursting with aromas of dark fruits and smoky spice. Rich and full on the palate this wine is as smooth as silk with a pop of acidity that maitains the wine's focus that leads to a spicy finish with a hint of smoke. Big and bold, this wine is a brighter version of a Clio, that might peel you away from your loyalty to that Spanish gem.
