I "found" my first pocket knife in my grandfather's "special" drawer amongst the silver dollars, pocket watches, and cuff links. The form of this elegantly shaped corkscrew fits your hand perfectly.  The l'Artigiano Cotelli, "The Knives Craftsmen" reside In a small village outside of Firenze (Florence). They have a centuries old, multi-generational tradition of crafting knives, which were originally used for battle. In peaceful times, they have transitioned to creating artisinal table knives and corkscrews.  Each of these one-of-a-kind tools epitomizes Italian style - a perfect combination of tradition and modernity.  

The handle is crafted from the horn of the domestic ox.  It is polished to a high sheen, which gives it an almost jewel-like appearance. 

The double-hinged fulcrum of the corkscrew allows a very clean extraction of the cork, even the longer ones. This system offers a substantial mechanical advantage over old-style single-hinged corkscrews. The serrated foil cutter blade shapes perfectly to cut the bottle’s foil with ease.  All metal parts are fabricated in satin stainless steel. 

In comparison to an average corkscrew, the Magnum about 50% larger and weighted accordingly.  It is impressive to hold, leaving no doubt of its high-quality construction and durability

Variations in pattern and color should be expected and are inherent to the nature of the natural products used in the fabrication of these fine instruments.  The ox horn handle has the most variation of any material that we offer.  The pieces shown here are examples to demonstrate a range of possible colors.  Every tool is unique.  This is a good thing.
