The 2022 vintage was one of the hottest and driest growing seasons in recent Barolo history. Despite concerns during the growing season, many wines emerged fresher and more balanced than expected, with aromatic lift, polished tannins, and earlier drinkability than vintages such as 2017 or 2020. Critics have noted that blended Barolos often performed particularly well in 2022, which is relevant because Tortoriano is a multi-vineyard bottling. 

The 2022 Tortoriano  emerged as a classic, approachable Barolo offering floral aromatics, red-fruited elegance, and polished tannins. The warm 2022 vintage contributes additional generosity and early accessibility with a lovely aromatic symphony of rose petals, red cherry, and sweet spices followed by a palate of fine-grained tannins and a lengthy mineral finish.
