This is not the "Anything but Merlot" wine in the 2004 movie "Sideways".  That movie destroyed the market for Merlot for 20 years. 

As memories of "Sideways" fades with my generation, I feel confident that this Merlot will entice the next generation of wine afficionados and bring some naysayers back into the fold. I tasted this wine yesterday and despite being a poster child for Old World Wine Lover, this Merlot made me very happy.  

Orin Swift "Advice from John" is a bold, 100% California Merlot created by Dave Phinney, featuring intense aromas of blackberry, plum, sage, and lilac, with a palate of dark fruits, fennel, and licorice. Aged for 8 months in 25% new French oak, it offers a luscious, velvety texture with soft tannins and a 14.9% ABV.
