Description
Our tasting panel (Sounds official, right?) was blown away by the lifted aromatics and easy-drinking palate when we tasted this wine. Incidentally, we tasted this wine on a "root" day, which seems to have a pronounced effect on Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. The wine should have been closed and unintriguing. It was quite the opposite. I would be an excellent, refreshing summer wine if served with a slight chill.
William Downie Cathedral Pinot Noir 2025 is vibrant raspberry, pomegranate, red currant, cherry pit and delicate rose petal on the nose with fine, chewy red fruit, cinnamon, mace and clove on the palate. Precise, well-defined and beautifully balanced — Mornington Peninsula and King Valley. Drink 2025–2028.
